The research on our family, presented at the 9th GeSIDA National Congress

On November 28, 29, 30 and December 1, the 11th Teaching Meeting: AIDS Research Network (RIS) and the Ninth GeSIDA National Congress in the city of Vigo were organized. In this congress, 600 clinical and basic research professionals participated, presenting the latest advances in both fields.

Dr. Sara Rodríguez Mora, who is part of the research group of Dr. Alcamí of the Carlos III Institute of Madrid, has had the enormous opportunity to present two oral communications (RIS meeting and GeSIDA congress) of the work entitled “Resistance to infection for HIV-1 in patients with a gene mutation in Transportin-3. Generation of a cellular model by gene editing (CRISPR / Cas9) “, research work funded by the Conquistando Escalones Association and which seeks a cure for Limb-girdle Muscular Dystrophy 1F that we suffer and at the same time, a new way of treatment for AIDS.

Both presentations had a great impact and aroused great curiosity and interest in everyone present. From Conquistando Escalones we want to thank Dr. Rodríguez for her tireless work and involvement with us. We trust that all the work that is being done from the researchers and association and presence in congresses as important as the one indicated, will serve to continue adding forces to achieve a cure for millions.
