Valencian musicians join to raise funds for medical research

On Friday, March 15, the Gala-Concierto: Músicos Valencianos por la Ciencia’will take place in the Iturbi Hall of the Palau de la Música in Valencia. Organized by the Conquistando Escalones Association, the gala will be used to raise funds for the research of the Limb-girdle Muscular Dystrophy 1F and HIV. This association is formed by a family that for 8 generations suffers from the aforementioned muscular disease, which is genetic and degenerative. Since 2013, when it was discovered that the protein that makes them sick makes them immune to HIV, 7 research groups are working to find treatments for both muscle disease and the AIDS virus. The annual costs of these investigations are around € 200,000 and therefore, Conquistando Escalones does not stop making events and campaigns to publicize their case and raise funds.

With Amàlia Garrigós as host, the ‘Gala-Concert: Valencian Musicians for Science’ will feature some of the most important chamber music artists of the Valencian territory. We will enjoy the music of Spanish Brass, Al Tall, Vicent Torrent, Amores, Orfeó Valencià, B3 Brouwer Trio, Casulana Quintet, Purple Pansa, Rascanya and Eduardo Benetó with Enric Ribes Martorell.

The tickets are general not numbered and have a single price that is a donation of € 12. They are now on sale at the Palau de la Música box office, Palau de la Música website and Servientradas.com.
