Meeting with the Feder Board of Directors

Last Friday we were one of the participating entities in the meeting convened by the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases (Feder) with all the groups whose headquarters are located in the province of Castellón. Since the founding of Conquistando Escalones in 2015, we have been part of Feder, so we have established continuous contact and shared lines of work with this Federation, but “it was a pleasure, for the first time, to be able to put on a face and meet its Board of Directors chaired by Juan Carrión. and this will help us to continue establishing synergies for the future and continue to make visible the importance of addressing rare diseases such as, in our case, research tasks,” says the president of Conquistando Escalones, Abrahán Guirao, who points out that the message from those responsible of Feder was clear: science, which has its times and does not always advance at the pace we would like, “is the only formula to find a cure.”

Feder explains that this type of meeting seeks to promote “participation and communication with the 418 associations that make up our federated association movement through face-to-face meetings at the headquarters of these entities” with the objective, among others, of promoting proximity and “to learn about the challenges and opportunities of people with rare diseases in Castellón from those who know the group best.” “Thanks to this we have also been able to analyze how to improve our joint work so that with both the regional and state associative fabric we can increase the cohesion of our movement even further,” the Federation indicates.
