The family immune to HIV celebrates the International Immunology Day

In 2013, a unique genetic mutation in the world that caused a family an extremely rare type of Muscular Dystrophy known as LGMD1F, made them immune to HIV infection. Immediately they called the attention of the scientific community, which aroused their interest to work in the cure of their disease and at the same time to look for a new door, a natural cure for those with AIDS, almost 40 million people today according to The United Nations information.

This family, which has been suffering from this disease for more than 8 generations and with sufferers distributed throughout the Valencian Community, Murcia, Catalonia, Andalusia and a small region of Italy, joined forces and founded the Conquistando Escalones Association, which in May turned 2 years old. In this time it has managed to unite 6 groups of multidisciplinary researchers working for a cure for which thanks to events and donations have managed to raise and pay € 120,000 and for the remainder of 2017 and until the end of 2018, needs to raise approximately € 200,000 more so they do not stop.
