Dr. Roberta Costa awarded for the presentation of a project about our disease
Today we want to introduce you to Roberta, with whom we are pleased for having won the prize “Altrodomani Onlus” for the best oral presentation entitled: “TNPO3 and myogenesis in murine and human myoblasts” a presentation about genetic mutation and disease, held at the XVIII AIM National Congress, organized by the Italian Association of Myology. We always write to you about projects, acronyms or to ask you for help to finance the ongoing research projects that study our muscular dystrophy, but it is also important that you know the faces of those who, together with you, give us every day the hope of a better future.
Roberta Costa has been working for more than a year on the project entitled “Creation of an in vitro cell culture system to study the role of transportin3 (TNPO3) in skeletal muscle.” With prof. Giovanna Cenacchi and researcher María Teresa Rodia, co-funded by our association.
At the congress, Roberta presented the first results of the project that step by step will allow us to clarify the role of TNPO3 in muscle, fundamental for any future treatment.
