Almost €300 raised thanks to the Mini-Olympics at Penya Celtic Submarí

Once again, the society of Vila-real did not fail in an appeal for solidarity and last Friday, March 24, the first Mini-Olympics of La Terreta took place, which included the first world championships in squeezing oranges and eating frare piles, organized by Conquering Steps. A total of 14 people were the brave ones who dared to go on stage at the Penya Celtic Submarí to compete and contribute their grain of sand to raise funds to continue medical research that seeks to find a treatment and cure for Limb-girdle Muscular Dystrophy 1F/D2.

Thus, divided into three rounds, Cabedo, Paula. Javier, Juanjo, Ana, Claudia, David, Davo, Juanra, Llum, Iris, Eva, Quique and Alexis put their strategies, strength and stomachs at the disposal of our initiative. Although it all seemed that the winners were emerging in the first round – Javier squeezed 700 ml and Cabedo ate practically all 8 balls in the two stipulated minutes – the truth is that Alexis gave the final surprise, winning both trophies and generating admiration among the fans. assistants. And no wonder, he managed to squeeze more than a liter of juice and ate 9 balls in two minutes!!

And if they were protagonists up on stage, dozens of people gathered below to cheer them on and to participate in the solidarity snack where they could taste piles of frare and orange juice in exchange for a donation. An event that was also broadcast on the Twitch channel of the Association’s president, Abrahán Guirao.

In short, a sweet, fun and supportive afternoon where once again we were able to soak up the generosity and solidarity of dozens of people from the terreta, thanks to whom, once the costs of carrying out the event were subtracted, almost €300 was raised.

In addition, from Conquistando Escalones we want to thank the staff of Envidea, the Tangerine company without filters that donated all the oranges, the Fundació Caixa Rural and the Peña Celtic Submarí for their involvement in this project and for being so dedicated to our cause, a real kick! of energy!
