The theater weekend in Vila Joiosa raises 4,400 euros for Conquistando Escalones

On the last weekend of June, on the 24th and 25th, Vila Joiosa was filled with solidarity theater thanks to Arteatro La Vila, a drama school in the town of Alicante that has collaborated with Conquistando Escalones for years and which this time managed to raise 4,402 euros that will result in medical research that the Association promotes to find a cure for Limb-girdle Muscular Dystrophy LGMD 1F-D2 and the HIV.

The representations of the children’s, youth and adult groups of Arteatro La Vila served to put the finishing touch to the academic year with a great reception from the public. In fact, the vice president of Conquistando Escalones, Antonio Fernández, points out that the different representations managed to gather around 1,400 spectators. “It has been a complete success, we have been full,” says Fernández. The youngest offered the work The Wizard of Oz that captured “all the magic of this classic with touches of humor and lots and lots of fun”, as explained by Arteatro; Gomina, an adaptation of Grease, made the group of young people from Arteatro sing live, dance and perform, and the proposal for the older ones was Esto no es vida, a “crazy parody about the human tendency to complicate existence. Guaranteed laughter watching the adventures of five women condemned to live with the dramas and frustrations that they themselves have created” that featured live music by The Pelphas. The three plays were directed by Ana Maestre and the vice president of Conquistando Escalones assures that they all delighted the audience: “It has been a very fun and entertaining weekend. The little ones are incredible, the one with teenagers left the audience stunned by how they danced and sang, and the group of adults once again never fails, making people laugh and enjoying themselves until the last moment.” For her part, from the theater school, its manager assured that she felt “very grateful to work with these magnificent artists who infect me with their illusion, their desire to excel and their ability to face new challenges” and thanked the response from the public and also from all the people who “make it possible, in one way or another, for theater to live”.
