‘El torneo de su vida’ (The tournament of his life), the book that will raise funds for medical research already exceeds 50% of its goal

For the children’s book ‘The tournament of his life’ to become a reality, the Conquistando Escalones Association launched, on September 30, a crowdfunding campaign on the Verkami platform that, with 20 days remaining until it ends, has achieved more than half of your goal, specifically 58%.

The Conquistando Escalones Association wants ‘ El torneo de su vida’ to become a reality and become a book for the whole family in which children with disabilities are reflected, that those who do not have disabilities know how to empathize and so that parents understand how to act in such situations. For this reason, there is talk of disability and inclusiveness “without heroics or paternalism”, says the author of the book and president of the Association, Abrahán Guirao. The idea with which it works is that the book is printed at the beginning of December. In addition, another of the objectives of ‘El torneo de su vida’ is for it to become one more way to fund medical research that seeks a cure for Limb-girdle Muscular Dystrophy 1F and HIV.

The ‘El torneo de su vida’ campaign will remain active until November 8 through Verkami (https://www.verkami.com/projects/27906-el-torneo-de-suvida). However, it should be noted that for those companies that want to be sponsors, the deadline ends on October 29. Guirao recalls that the donations that are made can obtain significant tax deductions as this year they have been declared a Public Utility by the Ministry of the Interior of the Government of Spain. In this sense, we are already grateful for the sponsorship of Multiópticas Ibarra; Penya Els Flamencs grocs; Novatègia; Discesur; A Uno Imagen Digital, A&A Physiotherapy and Podiatry and Vila-real Veterinaria.

In addition to being published in Spanish, ‘El torneo de su vida’ will be translated and printed in Valencian, as well as English, Italian, Friulian, Hungarian and French – versions that will initially be in digital format – and “these translations will be thanks to disinterested work of Cristòfol Tripiana; Elena Archiles from Clap Educació Activa; Jessica Furlan; Alessio Visintin and Lucina Deponte; ARLeF (Agjenzie Regjonâl pe lenghe Furlane); Gabriella Csuhai and Juan Luis Martín ”. However, it is very likely that it will expand to more languages.
